Activity 10.4
Perform the following tasks:
1. Visit a nearby dairy cattle farm or school farm to practise managerial operations
in dairy cattle with respect to breeding, rearing of incalf-heifers/cows,
management of lactating cows, management of dairy bull, calf rearing and
weaning, castration, culling, and selection.

2. Design a simple milk production sheet for a cow with the following inputs.
Name of the farm, owner of the farm, contact details of the farm, location of

the farm, serial number, name or identification number of each cow, time of
milking, date of milking, total milk production per day and per week.

3. Design a simple health and milk production record sheet with the following
inputs:

Name of the farm, owner of the farm, contact details of the farm, location of the
farm, serial number, date, identification number, clinical signs, sample taken to
the laboratory, diagnosis, treatment and remarks.

4. Prepare a report and present it in class.
