          Where dairy goats/sheep are reared and milked manually, milking can be facilitated
          by providing a platform along the feeding fence where the animals can stand while
          being milked from behind. The milking platform is also called milking stand. The
          milking stand can be equipped with or without a ladder depending on its height.
          The stand should be 0.8 m deep and elevated 0.35 - 0.5 m above the floor where the
          milker stands. Moveable or immoveable milking machines can be used depending
          on the scale of production. Figure 4.12 (a) shows a milking stand with ladder while
          Figure 4.12 (b) shows a milking stand with no ladder.
