There are ways to distinguish between facts and opinions; specific phrases
can help. Facts are often introduced by words like “According to,” “Research
shows,” “It is proven that,” or “Official reports state,” meaning the statement
can be supported by evidence. For example, “According to UNESCO, more
children are enrolling in schools” is a fact. Other examples of facts include “In
