(v) Turn in the turning on the upper layer
of the collar. Tack into position.
Attaching collars on the garment
Before attaching the collar to the garment
(bodice), join the shoulder seam, open, neaten
the edge and press. Staystitch the bodice
neck to prevent stretching or slipping out
of position. Trim, snip and attach the collar
to the neck appropriately for better results.
Attaching shirt collar without stand and (vi) Hem or machine stitch the collar
facing appropriately then press it to lie
flat and neat.
(i) Cut a straight collar on double
material.
(ii) Place the backside of the collar
around the neckline to the right
side of the garment (bodice)
facing each other.
(iii) Tack and stitch from the fold line
to the centre front line, then snip at
the centre front line of the collar.
(iv) Stitch the backside of the collar.
Trim and press it.
