This is commonly used on the top of zipped
openings especially at the neck of blouses
or dresses.
Procedure for attaching metal loops or
straight eye to the garment
(i) Place the eye loops on the hook
and mark where the eye falls on the
garment. Use a dressmaker pencil
to mark the position where the
eye naturally falls on the garment.
(ii) Unhook the loop from the hook and
place it to the marked position on
the garment, hold in place by fingers Metal bars: Metal bars or straight eyes
before you secure it with the thread. are attached to the opening when edges
overlap. A metal bar is fixed to the right
side of the underwrap. There is no stitch
support required as on the metal loops
when the loop is being attached on position.
The bars are attached with buttonhole or
overcast stitches.
Procedure for attaching metal bars to the
