Textiles and Garment Construction
If several loops are required, cut
bias strips long enough for all loops.
(iii) Fold the strip into half lengthwise
along the length with the right sides
together and baste 6mm for 6mm
tubes.
(vii) When the loops are ready, cut
them to the required size to fit the
buttons.
Arranging the loops
(i) Use a strip of a paper as a guide for
a buttonhole.
(iv) Tack and stitch the raw edges of the
length and one side of the width.
(v) Remove the tacking thread.
(ii) Calculate the required measurements
of the loop by forming the loop
around the button.
(vi) Trim the edges then use loop
turner or knit needle to pull and
turn the tube inside to outside.
(iii) Mark the position of the loop
evenly spaced along the edge of
the opening for fixing the loops.
