them for evaluation. Provide feedback on the students’ notes
and clarification if necessary. You may read the ‘Did you know’
section to gain an insight into the theories.

            (c) Reading the provided short story in the Student’s Book and writing
an analytical report using any of the theories of literature. This
activity is intended to teach students how to apply the theories of
literature in analysing a literary work. Each student is required
to closely read the story to determine the features of the theory
represented in the story. You may instruct the students to do this
activity individually, in pairs or in small groups and present their
               responses in class for discussion.
            (d) Choosing any book and critiquing it, focusing on its formal
elements such as structure, language, and style. This activity is
intended to teach students how to critique a book. The activity
can be done in pairs or small groups. Instruct them to analyse
the book by focusing on the structure, language, and style.
After the analysis ask them to present their work in class for
discussion. Lead them to examine how the formal aspects of
literature contribute to the overall meaning and effect of the
chosen books. For example, they may choose to examine the
use of imagery and symbolism in the book to explore how these
elements enhance the themes and message.

            (e) Reading the story provided in the Student’s Book and writing an
analytical report using guide questions provided. This activity
is intended to teach students how to write an analytical report
of a literary work. Instruct each student to read the story and
share their understanding. Ask each student or each pair to
write an analytical report and present it for discussion. After the
