            Activity 11.4      Assessing the contribution of Tanzanian

                            literature to the moulding of a civilised society

          Use the activities in the Student’s Book to guide the students through:
         FOR ONLINE READING ONLY
             (a) Conducting a two-week project using the provided guidelines.
                 It is intended to provide the students with the opportunity to
                 conduct a mini project. This activity should be done in small
                 groups. Provide the students with proper guidelines to complete
                 their project. Ask them to present their work one section at a
                 time and work on comments for improvement before submitting
                 the complete report after two weeks. Remind them to frequently
                 refer to the information provided in the Student’s Book.
             (b) Preparing a summary report of the project in Activity 4(a) and
                 presenting it to the class for discussion. Make sure that each
                 student participates in the presentation and responds to the
                 questions from the audience.

             (c) Writing comments received from the discussion in Activity 4 (b)
                 and improving the final report. This activity is intended to give
                 chance for the students to improve their report. Instruct them
                 to note down comments from the audience for improvement
                 and use them to improve their final reports to be submitted for
                 evaluation. Provide feedback and clarification if needed.
