discuss how the tips given apply to proofreading. Instruct them to

(f) Consulting a professional editor to explore more about editing
and proofreading. Arrange how this can happen by either inviting
a professional editor to class physically or visiting or instructing
students to consult any professional editor during the holidays.
(g) Matching the sets in Column B with the appropriate item in
Column A by writing their letter against the appropriate item.
Students can do it individually and then, let them pair up to do
it in a pair.
Activity 10.2 Editing and proofreading a variety of
complex texts
Use the activities in the Student’s Book to guide the students through:
(a) Reading the given paragraph and completing the activities that
follow.
(b) Studying the three provided versions of a text in the Student’s Book.
Then, ask them to complete the activities provided individually or
in groups. You may conduct a plenary discussion for clarification
and summing up.
(c) Reading, identifying errors and rewriting each of the given texts
correctly. You may ask the students to sit in pairs and complete
the activity or group work. The pairs or group works should be
presented in class for plenary discussion.
(d) Reading the reflective questions found in the Student’s Book and
ask them to provide answers both orally and in writing. You may
begin by asking each student to respond orally and later on write
the answers in their exercise books.
