          Teaching steps
             1.  Search information from the library and internet sources
         FOR ONLINE READING ONLY
                 about methods of preparing rice starch.
             2.  Guide students to view video or animations showing rice
                 starch extraction and note what they have observed.
             3.  Use jig saw or any other techniques for students to share
                 their views on rice starch extraction.

             4.  Task students to prepare rice starch using various methods.
             5.  Guide students to view the structures of rice starch in low and
                 high magnification power of the microscope. Task students
                 to draw and describe the observed structures.
             6.  Encourage students to work collaboratively and fully engage
                 in performing Activities 4.2 and 4.3 from Student’s Book on
                 rice starch extraction.

          4.5 Extraction of Irish potato starch

          Teaching steps

             1.  Guide students to search for information from the library
                 and internet sources/video showing the extraction of Irish
                 potato starch. Task students to note what they have observed.
             2.  Engage students in interactive activities to discuss the
                 procedures for the extraction of Irish potato starch. Check
                 whether students participate actively in group discussion.
                 Ask students to note what they have discussed.
             3.  Facilitate students to view the structure of Irish potato in
                 low and high magnification power. Task students to draw
                 the observed structures.
