4.1 The concept of nutrients extraction
Teaching steps
1. Use think pair share method or any other method for student
to brainstorm on nutrients extraction
2. Guide students to search for information from the library and
the internet on nutrients which can be extracted from foods
and the foods to be used.
3. Instruct students to prepare report and present it in class for
discussion.
4.2 Extraction of starch and gluten from wheat flour
Teaching steps
1. Guide students to read from different internet sources, or
any other sources about starch and gluten extraction from
wheat flour
2. Guide students to extract starch and gluten from wheat flour.
Apply various ways in in this process. Make sure there is
enough water to be used in washing out the starch
3. Task students to perform Activity 4.1 and Exercise 4.1
from the Student’s Book. Mark students’ works and provide
feedback
