Simulation of logic gate circuit using Logisim simulator software Chapter One: Computer architecture

Aim: To design and simulate a light switch control system using an XOR
FOR ONLINE READING ONLY
gate which is a combination of two NOT gates, two AND gates and
one OR gate.
Materials: Computer, Logisim simulator software or Internet, sample designed
logic gate circuits
Instructions:
Step 1: Open and understand the components of Logisim simulator. Refer
Activity 1.9
Step 2: Adding gates
(a) Design a light switch control system using an XOR gate on a paper as shown
in Figure 1.23

(b) Add two AND gates by clicking the AND gate tool in the toolbar and dragging
to canvas
(c) Add other gates like NOT gates and OR gates. Click the NOT gate from toolbar
and drag to the canvas. Click the OR gate and drag it to the place where you
want it to appear in the canvas, as shown in Figure 1.24.
(d) Add the inputs and outputs, as shown in Figure 1.24.
