            The dialogues you have read in (a) are in different dialects. A dialect is a language
            variety  characterising  a particular  group of speakers. It involves variations  in
            pronunciation, spelling, vocabulary, grammar, and syntax that distinguish it from

            other dialects of the same language. Dialects emerge due to geographical, social,
            cultural and historical factors which affect a language. Thus, we have several
            dialects of English.



          (b) Rewrite the following passage in Standard British English.

          Education na one big kasala wey dey affect girls for Africa. For many place, girls still dey
          face plenti wahala wen dem wan go school. Dem fit dey stop dem from school sake of
          poverty, or dem go believe say girl pikin no need book. Some people still dey hold on to
          old-fashioned belief say na only boys suppose learn book well-well. But e dey important
          make we change dis kyn mindset and give girls di chance to go school. Education na key
          wey fit unlock better future for everybodi, and girls na important part of di society wey
          need dis opportunity. If we fit support and encourage girls to learn book, dem fit become
          strong, independent women wey go fit contribute positively to Africa.
