Chichi: Seriously! I mean, the rains used to be right on time, but now it’s like
they don’t even know when to come. And the heat, oh man, it’s been
scorching hot lately!
Chota: Tell me about it! Feels like the sun’s got a bone to pick or something.
And have you noticed how the seasons seem to be changing? We’re
getting less and less rain during the rainy season, and then the dry

season just drags on forever.
Chichi: Exactly! And it’s not just the weather, you know. Global warming’s
messing up a whole bunch of stuff for the environment. Like, have you
heard how the ice caps are melting and the sea levels are rising?
Chota: Oh yeah! And that’s not even the worst part. We’re feeling the effects
of global warming right here in Tanzania too. Look at our farmers
struggling with crazy weather patterns and crops failing because of
droughts or floods.
Chichi: It’s really sad. And it’s not just the environment either. Global warming’s
hitting people’s lives and jobs hard. Families are losing their homes
to floods and rising sea levels, and folks are going hungry because of
messed-up harvests.
Chota: It’s a real mess, no doubt about it. But you know what? We can’t just sit
around and do nothing. We’ve gotta take action, even if it’s just small
stuff like saving energy, planting trees, or getting the word out about
what’s going on.
Chichi: Absolutely! Every little bit helps. We might just be a couple of students
at Chato High School, but together we can make a change. Let’s kick
things off with a big campaign to get the word out about global warming
and get our classmates to join.
Chota: Sounds like a plan, Chichi! Let’s do it. Together, we can make a
difference and keep our planet safe for the future.
Chichi: Let’s get to it, Chota! We’ve got some work to do.
Dialogue B
Chichi: Alright mate! Chota, ‘ave you ‘eard about the global warmin’ crisis?
It’s really worryin’ me.
Chota: Aye, I’ve been readin’ about it too. It’s like the weather is all messed
up lately.
Chichi: No word of a lie! I mean, the rains used to come on time, but now it’s
like they don’t know when to show up. And the heat, blimey, it’s been
scorchin’ hot lately!
