performance is staged. How would you differentiate other types of stages
from the basic types of stages in terms of audience-performer relationship?

            Performing space setting
In contemporary contexts, the modern stage for performances, whether it is
proscenium, thrust or arena can be built indoor or outdoor.

            Indoor theatre stage
Most of these theatre spaces are small. They are built to accommodate a small
number of people or audience. Most of them are built in the existing theatre
buildings and they are not open to the sky. They are well equipped in terms
of light and sound instruments. The setting can be done fast and easily. These
theatres are less affected by weather, noise or by other environment conditions
that may disrupt the performances compared to outdoors. The buildings that host
indoors theatre stage are more limited in terms of size. Among the indoors theatre
stages in Tanzania can be found in TaSUBa and at the National Museum. Figure
3.18 is an example of an indoor stage.
