Figure 3. 16: Performers offering their performance in a mobile stage

            Characteristics of a mobile stage

                (a) A mobile stage is flexible. Performers can perform anywhere provided that
there is a space for performance and audience. Performers can perform
                    several times.

                (b) It is simple. No elaborative scenery is needed in mobile stage because in
most cases performing space is not identified earlier. Therefore, no earlier
preparation is necessary. Performers may identify just a few spaces; the
rest are identified by performers together with their audience as they
move from one point to another.

                (c) A stage location depends on the nature of the performance. While the
proscenium stage is usually placed at higher level, a mobile stage can
be located in the lower or higher level. A good example of mobile stage
located at higher level is one usually set in a truck. These kinds of stages
are mostly used in promotion of products. Figure 3.17 shows an example
                    of a mobile stage.
