Figure 3. 17: An example of a mobile stage

                (d) It is usually located outdoor. The stage is usually not built and it takes
place outdoor. The question of where the performance should take place
is usually determined by the audiences’ interest to watch the performance.
It can be at the market, along the road, at neighbourhood surroundings or
                    at the park.

            Advantages of a mobile stage

A mobile stage has several advantages which include the following.
                (a) There is no demarcation between a performer and the audience. Performers
and audience of mobile stage tend to mingle, and thus it becomes difficult
to differentiate performers from the audience. This brings to the audience
                    a participatory mood.
                (b) It is less costly. In this type of stage audience are not obliged to pay entrance
fee in order to watch the performance. This is because the performances
take place in the open spaces that include marketplace, along the road, at
the courtyard or the car park. Performers too, are not obliged to pay for
                    the venue.

                (c) Easy access is one of major advantages of a mobile stage. It provides
equal chances to performers to show their performance and the audience
to view performances, since it is outdoor.

                (d) Performance may take place at different places in the same day: Performers
of mobile stage can perform in several stages in a day depending on the
                    audience’s demand and location.
