            Outdoor theatre stage
            This is a kind of stage whereby theatre performances are performed in the open
            air, in buildings with no walls or ceiling and they are rarely with lights and sound
            amplification. The outdoors theatre is not expensive compared to indoors. The
            example  of  outdoors  stage  is TaSUBa’s Mwembeni  stage  in  Bagamoyo. The

            outdoors theatre  stage may accommodate  a large number of audiences  than
            indoors. Figure 3.19 shows how an outdoor stage looks like.

               Exercise 3.3
                1.  You and your friends are invited for a theatre performance. As a theatre
                    student, you are curious to know how the stage looks like. Upon arrive at
                    the stage, you find out that the stage has wings to the right and left. The
                    audience are sitting towards the stage which has curtains, briefly draft an
                    explanation of the stage where the performance is taking place that you
                    will give to your friends to read.


                2.  Your backbencher  friends did not understand the lesson on types of
                    theatre stages. They request you to explain the style of stage where the
                    audience sits in the three sides of the stage.
