Procedure

              1. Take one ice cube and place it in the saucepan. Observe
the colour of the ice and press it with your fingers. Does it
                    deform?

              2. Take another ice cube, place it in the saucepan, and
observe its shape. Transfer the ice to the jug and observe
its shape over a short period. Did the shape and size of the

ice change after being placed in the jug?

              3. Light the stove, then place a saucepan with another piece

of ice on the stove. What do you observe?

              4. Place another piece of ice from the ice box in the melted
                    water. What did you notice?

              5. Record the results of your observations for each step.

              6. Take a piece of ice from the ice box and place it on a flat
surface, such as a tray. Gently tilt the surface and note the
observation. Does the ice flow like liquid water?

              Results

Water in its solid state (ice) is colourless, firm when pressed,
maintains its shape regardless of the container it is placed
in, and does not flow like liquid water. Solid ice floats in liquid

water, and when exposed to warmer conditions, it melts into
              liquid water.

              Conclusion

The experiment confirmed that water in its solid state is firm,
retains a definite shape and volume, and does not flow like
              liquid water.
