Note that the first/root note of a triad identifies the name of a particular triad.

Writing a tonic triad on the staff
Tonic triads can be written on the staff. The following steps show an example on
how to write a G tonic triad (G B D) on a staff:

Step 1: Write the key signature for G major scale. See the example shown in
Figure 4.7.
