Step 2: Write the first or tonic note of the G major scale which is note G, as a root

Step 4: Write the fifth note (D) above the third note (B) to make a complete G

A triad can be constructed using notes of different values. Figure 4.11 shows G
tonic triads written using minim, crotchet, quaver and semiquaver notes.
