Practise the following exercise to improve your articulation:
Practise the following “tongue-twisters”. Start by reading the sentence slowly
and then increase the speed with time.
(a) She sells sea shells on the sea shore, but the shells that she sells are not
sea shells.
(b) Red lorry, yellow lorry
(c) Kipi kikuchekeshacho na kikusikitishacho
(d) Mpishi mbishi kapika mchicha mbichi
Note that, you should avoid straining your voice during exercises when you
reach the limit of your vocal range.
Activity 6.9
Choose two short melodies, one in Kiswahili and another in any foreign
language. Perform the melodies as a solo singer while applying the singing
techniques you have learned.

language. Perform the melodies in a vocal ensemble while applying the singing
techniques you have learned.
