Cowper’s gland/Bulbourethral gland: This gland produces mucous fluid that
precedes the sperm cells helping to neutralise acidity of the urine which would harm
the sperm cells.
Prostate glands: This is a pair of gland which secretes alkaline fluids which neutralise
acidity in the vagina to protect the sperm cells from acidic conditions.
Seminal vesicles gland: They secrete a viscous fluid that nourishes the sperm cells
and it is in this fluid where sperm cells are carried.
Penis shaft: This refers to the organ that penetrates the vagina at mating time. The
penetration of penis into vagina is called copulation. The discharge of semen from
the penis into vagina is termed as ejaculation.
Sigmoid flexure: The Sigmoid flexure is the S-shaped bend of the urethra which
allows it to retract after copulation.
Retract muscle: Helps in putting the erected exposed penis into the sheath.
Prepuce: This is also called the sheath. It protects the delicate part of the penis
(glans) from external injury.
