            2. Present your work in class.

            Invoice

This is a document used in farm business when goods are delivered on credit. The
invoice simply shows quantities and descriptions of goods supplied and the prices
of such goods. It is issued by the seller to inform the buyer about the goods/services
delivered or offered. The buyer checks the invoice against the delivery note to ensure
that charges are raised against only the goods supplied. Upon receiving an invoice,
the buyer counterchecks for deviations and notifies the seller in case there is any.

Some farming businesses have invoices pre-printed with their logo and bound
together in a book form. Invoices are usually in triplicate and they are numbered in
series. The original invoice is given to the buyer together with the goods/services.
Where monthly statements are sent to the buyer, the duplicates will be sent to the
buyer together with the statement. The triplicate remains in the book as a record.
Figure 13.3 shows the template of an invoice.
