Activity: Compile information about “How social media affects teenagers

Steps
1. Gather information.
• Talk to friends, family members, or teachers about how social media
affects teenagers.
• Observe how social media is used by teenagers in daily life.
• Read articles or watch a video about the social and psychological
effects of social media.
2. Organise information.
• Write down key points under three categories: Positive effects of
social media, Negative effects of social media, and Ways to use social
media responsibly.
3. Write a short report.
• Write at least one paragraph for each category, i.e., social and

4. Self-reflection
• At the end of your report, answer these questions in three sentences:
How has social media affected your daily life? What can you do to use
it positively?
Activity 3 Categorising information
(a) Read the following information on the topic “Peer pressure.” Then, put the
items into appropriate categories (causes, effects and ways to handle peer
pressure) as shown in the table that follows.
Choose friends who respect your decisions. A lack of confidence can make
it hard to say no. Teenagers want to fit in with their friends. Learn to say
“No” confidently. Some students skip classes to follow their friends. Social
