Task
1. Copy all boldfaced words from the speech in Activity 1(c) and read them
aloud.
2. Construct one sentence for each word.

know
All words in boldface that you have read from the text Journey to success are
adjectives formed from verbs. Adjectives can be formed from verbs in various
ways, including using the -ing and -ed forms. When -ing is added to a verb,
it describes something that causes an effect, such as in “a confusing lesson”
(a lesson that confuses). When -ed is added to the same word, it explains how
one feels, as in “I was confused” (I felt confused). Some past participles, such
as broken, tired, and forgotten, can also function as adjectives. For example, in
“The broken window needs fixing”, the word “broken” describes the state of
the window. Adjectives provide more details about nouns in sentences.
