“-y,” the “y” changes to “i” before adding “-ly” (happy-happily). Adverbs can
also be formed from nouns by adding suffixes like “-wise” (clock → clockwise)
or “-ward(s)” (home → homeward). However, some adverbs have irregular
forms and do not follow typical patterns, like good → well or fast → fast.
