Task
Use the following guidelines to listen to news bulletins broadcast in English
from various sources.
1. Choose a news source, such as a radio station, TV channel, or an online
news platform.
2. While listening, identify key details: Who is involved? What happened?
When and where did it happen? Why and how did it happen?
3. Note important names, dates, locations, and key events to help you
remember and analyse the news later.
4. Observe how the news is structured, starting with headlines, followed by
detailed reports and sometimes expert opinions.
5. Pay attention to the tone and emphasis on critical points, as this helps you
understand the intended message more correctly.
6. Prepare a presentation to share your findings with the class.

(a) Listen to the news bulletin read by your teacher and answer the following
questions.
1. What is the news about?
2. According to the news report, what challenges do Tanzanian youth face?
3. What measures have been taken to address these challenges?
4. Who else should be involved in the fight against drug abuse?
5. In your opinion, what should be done to stop drug abuse?
