Responding to messages appropriately
Introduction
Effective communication involves responding to messages appropriately
in conversations and reacting in a respectful and relevant manner. In this
chapter, you will express ideas, opinions and facts, interpret non-verbal cues,
respond to public messages, communicate effectively in public settings, and
appreciate diverse perspectives in mass communication. You will also evaluate
information received through mass communication. The competencies
developed will enable you to express your thoughts clearly, demonstrate your
understanding, and actively participate in discussions, which is essential for
both your academic and personal growth.
Think about:
why you should respond appropriately in conversations.
