Story 3
Ndele walked into the living room and gasped. The beautiful blue vase
her mother loved was in pieces on the floor. Her little brother, Chautundu,
stood nearby, his hands behind his back and his eyes looking down. “What
happened?” Ndele asked. Chautundu shrugged and whispered, “I don’t
know.”

Story 4
Tulibaha sat quietly at her desk as the teacher walked around collecting
exercise books with homework from students. When the teacher got to
her desk, Tulibaha bit her lip and looked down. “Tulibaha, where is your
homework?” the teacher asked. Tulibaha mumbled, “I forgot it at home.”
The teacher sighed and moved on. Tulibaha didn’t lift her head for the rest
of the lesson. After the class, she went to the teacher’s office, apologised and
promised to submit her work the following day.
