Textiles and Garment Construction
Pleats are used to add garment details
and affect the fullness of the garment
in an attractive way. A pleat is used as
a design on garments, home furnishings
or other accessories. Pleats are also
functional as they give ample fullness
on skirts, dress, shorts and trousers.
Pleats are suitable for both fine and medium
weight fabrics. Pleats are formed by folding
the fabric to create three overlap layers.
