Confinement systems a type of livestock farming where animals
are kept in controlled indoor environments.
Confinement systems include farrowing
crates, nursery units, and finishing barns.
An intensive pig production system is an
example of a confinement system.
Conformation the physical shape and structure of an animal
e.g. rabbit is often evaluated in shows or
breeding programs.
Creep feeding the practice of providing supplemental feed
to young animals while they are still nursing.
This helps them transition to solid food and
promotes faster growth.
Crop rotation the practice of growing crops in alteration
to improve soil health, optimise nutrient and
combat paste and weed pressure.
Crossbreeding the practice of breeding animals e.g. pigs/
rabbits from two different breeds to combine
desirable traits from both. This often results
in hybrid vigour, where the offspring perform
better than their parents.
Culling The process of removing animals e.g. rabbits
or pigs from the breeding stock due to poor
health, productivity, or undesirable traits.
Curing a post-harvest process that involves storing
harvested crop produce in warm, humid
conditions to heal any damage to the skin and
improve flavour and shelf life.
Cuttings the sections of stems that are planted to
