vocabulary usage.
(f) Repeated exposure: Provide multiple opportunities for students
to encounter and use new vocabulary in different contexts.
This can include reading passages, listening exercises, writing
assignments, and speaking activities.
(g) Vocabulary journals: Encourage students to keep vocabulary
journals where they can record new words, their meanings, and
example sentences. This encourages ownership of learning and
allows students to review the vocabulary regularly.
(h) Regular review and reinforcement: Schedule regular review
sessions to reinforce previously learned vocabulary. This could
be through quick quizzes, review games, or flashcards.
(i) Integration with language skills: Integrate vocabulary
instruction with the development of other language skills
such as reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Encourage
students to use newly learned vocabulary in their speaking and
writing tasks.
(j) Feedback and correction: Provide timely feedback on students’
use of vocabulary and correct any errors in context. Encourage
self-correction and peer feedback to foster a supportive
learning environment
5. Grammar
(a) Assess the prior knowledge: Start by assessing what your
students already know about grammar. This can inform your
teaching plan and help you identify areas where they need the
most support.
