(i) Introduce the lesson by clarifying the aim of pronunciation
exercises. Highlight that these exercises are specifically
created to enhance students’ pronunciation precision and
fluency.

(ii) Model the pronunciation of the target sound, word, or
phrase clearly and at a slow pace. If needed, use over-
the-top mouth motions for emphasis.
(iii) Ask students to repeat pronouncing after you multiple
times, concentrating on mirroring your pronunciation as
accurately as they can. Encourage them to focus on the
shape of their mouth, the position of their tongue, and the
flow of air.
(iv) Allow each student to individually practice the target
pronunciation. Give feedback and make any necessary
corrections.
(v) Pair up students and have them alternate practising the
desired pronunciation with each other. Promote peer
input and error correction.
(vi) Group Work: Gather students for group practice activities.
Students should take turns pronouncing the target sound
loudly in groups or individually, while the rest of the
class listens and gives feedback.
(vii) Differentiate the exercises to ensure that the students
remain interested. You have the option of adjusting
the speed, volume, or emphasis as you speak, and also
incorporate tongue twisters and other difficult exercises.
(viii) Provide feedback and correction consistently during the
drills. Motivate students to check their pronunciation and
make changes if necessary.
(ix) Assign pronunciation practices as homework to give
students more chances to strengthen their skills beyond
the classroom.
