to discuss and assign them to their respective types.

7. Guide students through discussing how compounds can be created
to describe new technologies and concepts. Ask them to provide
examples of recent compound words created as an outcome of new
technology like “selfie stick,” “cyberbullying,”.
8. Assign students in pairs to write new words created through
compounding in order to practise this process.
9. Provide students with more exercises through which they can identify
compound words in sentences, create their own compound words,
or analyse the meanings of compound words in different contexts.
10. Encourage students to explore and expand their vocabulary through
compounding by paying attention to compound words they encounter
in reading materials, media, or in everyday life, and discuss the
meanings and functions of these compounds in class.
Exercise 1�3 in the Student’s Book
(a) Ask students to do Exercise 1.3 in the student’s book.
(b) Guide students to effectively form new words under each type
of compound process of forming words.
(c) Ask students to form not less than five words under each type.
(d) Guide students to use the compound words they have created
above to construct a sentence for each.
(e) Encourage students to write their answers in their exercise
books.
(f) Mark students works and provide feedback.
