Preparing illustrations in academic documents
Teaching procedures
1. Guide students in pairs through brainstorming the idea of preparing
illustrations in academic documents.

2. Group students and ask them to present their work to the class for
knowledge sharing and further discussion.
3. Ask each pair to read silently the strategies for preparing illustrations
for academic documents provided in the Student’s Book.
4. Randomly, choose a few students and ask them to read aloud the
information on ‘the strategies for preparing illustrations in academic
documents provided in the Student’s Book.
5. Allow the students to ask questions on the information they have
read.
6. Use their questions for class discussion.

(a) Ask students in groups to do the activity instructed in the
Student’s Book.
(b) Guide students through presenting their work to the class.
(c) Correct students’ errors to improve their work.
Exercise 6�3 in the Student’s Book
(a) Ask students in groups to do the exercise instructed in the
Student’s Book.
(b) Guide students through presenting their work to the class
by posting the graphs on the wall/board. If possible, provide
each group with A3 size paper or manilla paper to draw their
graphs on.
(c) Correct students’ errors if any to improve their work.
