is the basic teachings of the Jewish faith. As it is shown in Figure 1.1 below, the five
books of the Pentateuch are: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy.

In terms of the length, the book of Genesis contains 50 chapters. The book of Exodus
contains 40 chapters, the book of Leviticus comprises 27 chapters, while the book of
Numbers has 36 chapters, and the book of Deuteronomy is comprised of 34 chapters.

We have to understand the messages communicated in these books.

Genesis is about creation, the fall of man, and the origin of the Israelites.

Exodus is about the story of the escape of the Israelites from Egypt, the wandering
in the desert, and the covenant at Mount Sinai.

Leviticus is about the laws of the Priests of the Levite tribe.
