Pentateuch
The first five books of the Pentateuch (Genesis to Deuteronomy) are foundational to
all Scripture and rank one of the most important sections of the Bible. As knowledge
of the Gospels is essential for understanding the New Testament, equally is the
Pentateuch crucial to the Old Testament, and for that matter to the whole Bible.
The word Pentateuch comes from the Greek language pentateukhos Penta stands for
five. Teukhos stands for scroll (book). Pentateuch contains the Torah (Law). The Torah
