The style of writing in the Bible
The Bible was written in different styles such as narratives, poems, sayings, stories,
letters, proverbs, songs, prayers, sermons and prophecies.
The purpose of writing the Bible
The Bible was written for different purposes such as warning, teachings, corrections,

and insights (2Timony 3:16).
Importance of studying Bible Knowledge
We get so many benefits from studying Bible Knowledge. The following are some
of them: The study of Bible knowledge helps the learner to develop critical thinking
and improve communication skills. Again, it helps the learner to get the correct
understanding of the scriptures. Moreover, it helps us to get knowledge from the
Bible and put it into practice in life. Furthermore, the study of Bible knowledge aids
us to know our divine origin and destination, and to get insight on how to acquire
eternal life. Still the study of Bible knowledge helps us to know God. “And this
is eternal life, that they know you the only True God and Jesus Christ whom you
sent” (John 17:3). It also supports us to have good relationships with others, to be
servant leaders in society and avoid corruption (Exodus 18:21; 1 Samuel 12:3; Hosea
9:9) eventually to be responsible citizens. Last but not the least, the study of Bible
knowledge prepares the learner for further biblical studies.

Read the Bible and online sources to do the following:
1. Describe the role of language in the Bible.
2. Explain the style of writing in the Bible.
3. Explain the purposes for which the Bible was written.
4. State the importance of studying Bible Knowledge.
5. Show the use of the Bible in your daily life.
