18. Compare the themes of two different poems. Explain the similarities and
differences you notice in the way the poets present their themes. Discuss
possible reasons for these similarities or differences.
19. Select a play among those which you have read in Form Three and identify
at least five different literary devices and explain how each device affects
the reader.
20. Choose one literary device that is heavily used in a play you have read in
Form Three. Write an essay to explain how this device contributes to the
overall meaning of the text.
21. Pick a poem with two literary devices you like and replace those devices
with others without distorting the poem’s beauty (e.g., change a metaphor
into a simile or hyperbole into a personification). Discuss how the change
affects the tone or imagery of the passage.
22. Does a poem consist of the plot? Choose one narrative poem and do the
following:
(i) Create a plot diagram (exposition, rising action, climax, falling
action, resolution).
(ii) Label each section and provide brief descriptions of key events.
(iii) With examples, explain how the poem’s plot differs or relates to the
