                  those that are opinions.

               2.  Would you regard the news report as reliable, and why? What makes it
                  trustworthy or questionable?



            (c)  Say whether the object described in the news report in Activity 6(b) is of alien
                origin or human-made. Give reasons to support your argument.



              Task

              1.   Read an article from any English newspaper. Then, evaluate the information
                   based on the following aspects:
                   (a)  Accuracy               (d)  Currency
                   (b)  Reliability            (e)  Factuality
                   (c)  Relevance              (f)  Purpose
              2.   Write a five-paragraph news report about a surprising event in your area.
                   Then, evaluate your report using the principles for evaluating information.
              3.   Listen to a news report on the radio or watch one on television. Then,
                   evaluate the information by answering the following questions:
                   (a)  What is the news about?
                   (b)  What is the purpose of the information?
                   (c)  Is the information relevant and reliable? Give reasons.
                   (d)  Is the information factual?
                   (e)  Comment on the accuracy of the information.
