            Activity 2.4


           This activity aims to enable the students to review literature to
           understand how the joint ventures are formed and the reasons for
         FOR ONLINE READING ONLY
           their success or failure in the context of Tanzania.


          Guidance in Activity 2.4
            (a)   Guide every student to review different literature from various
                 sources on joint ventures and describe the processes for the
                 formation of joint ventures based on the context of Tanzania,
                 and suggest the reasons that could lead to their success and
                 failure.

            (b)  Guide the students to present the answers.
            (c)   Guide the students through think-ink-pair-share to comment on
                 what they could have done to ensure the joint ventures succeed
                 in business.

          Possible answers for Exercise 2.4
          Some  benefits  of  jointly  owned  businesses  are  enhancing  business
          growth, accessing more resources, and minimising risks.



            Activity 2.5

           This activity aims to enable students to describe how co-operatives
           benefit their members and the community in general.


          Guidance on Activity 2.5
            (a)   Guide  students  in  manageable  groups to  visit  and  consult
                 any local  government  leader or person concerned  with  co-
                 operatives existing in the community, on how the cooperatives
                 benefit their members and community at large.
