             (d) Studying  the  conversations  provided  in  the  Student’s Book
                 and determining the relationship of the participants in each
                 conversation. This activity focuses also on the different levels
                 of formality. Ask the students to identify  the relationship of

                 participants in each dialogue and the type of language used
                 that characterises that level of formality. The activity can be
                 done in small groups or pairs. The participants in Dialogue
                 1  are  between  spouses, Dialogue  2  is  between  classmates,
                 and Dialogue 3 is between a teacher and a student. Ask the
                 students to read the ‘Did you know?’ section in the Student’s
                 Book and other sources to acquaint them with the concept of
                 the levels of formality.
