                 Four Oral messages

         FOR ONLINE READING ONLY

Comprehending oral messages with self-confidence is paramount
for students’ academic, social, and professional success. The
activities in this chapter will enhance their listening skills not
only and the ability to understand lessons, instructions and
conversations but also foster effective communication in various
contexts. This will empower students to actively participate in
classroom discussions, engage with peers, and express themselves
fluently. The developed competencies will equip students with
the necessary tools to navigate real-world interactions, build
relationships, and thrive in multicultural environments.

Activity 4.1 Explaining different types of meanings from oral
                        information

Use the activities in the Student’s Book to guide the students through:
          (a) Studying the sayings and proverbs in Column A and referring
to the meanings in Column B. Then, ask them to complete the
              following activities:
               (i) Match the sayings and proverbs in Column A with their
meanings in Column B. Then, make a brief oral presentation
in front of the class on each chosen saying or proverb,
providing one scenario from real life.
(ii) Examine the meanings of various African proverbs and
sayings from different countries and discuss their relevance
                   to your community.
