           (vi)  Scheduled telephone interpreting: As the name implies, scheduled telephone
               interpreting  occurs  during a  scheduled  telephone  session. In this  case,  the
               interpreter is not seen by either party involved in the call. It can take place
               either simultaneously or consecutively, depending on the main speakers.

          (c) Imagine that you have accompanied an elderly patient who is suffering from a
              terrible headache to the hospital, but he cannot express himself in English to the
              doctor who can only understand English. The patient can only speak Kiswahili.
              Compose a  script  for  a  role-play  scenario  where  you  act  as an  interpreter
              facilitating the conversation between that patient and the doctor.


          (d) Play the Interpretation Relay Race by accurately interpreting the following
              sentences into Kiswahili within a time limit.
                 1.  She hit the nail on the head when she pointed out the main issue.
                 2.  I am under the weather today, so I think I will stay home.
                 3.  It is raining cats and dogs outside, so don’t forget your umbrella!
                 4.  He is pulling your leg; he didn’t mean what he said.
                 5.  Do not count your chickens before they hatch; let us wait for the results.
                 6.  She is the apple of her parents’ eye; they are always proud of her achievements.
                 7.  I am just testing the waters with this new hobby; I am not fully committed yet.
                 8.  She’s been under the weather, but she’s hoping to turn over a new leaf soon.
