Introduction Academic Communication for Advanced Secondary Schools

These scenarios could be based on actual events, case studies, or
                 fictional scenarios.
iii. Explain what students are expected to do and what the expected
                 outcomes are.

iv. Present the scenario by providing learners with the necessary
background information and context. Describe the characters
involved, the setting, and any other relevant information.
           v. Engage learners by asking open-ended questions or facilitating
discussions about the scenario. Encourage them to think critically
and assess the situation from various angles. Promote problem-
solving by guiding learners through recognising challenges and
brainstorming solutions. Encourage them to think about the impact
                 of each decision.

vi. Encourage discussion and collaboration: Encourage learners to
contribute ideas, thoughts and views. This can be accomplished
via group discussions, peer feedback or collaborative activities.

vii. Provide positive feedback on learners’ responses and decisions
during simulation. Highlight their successes and areas for growth.
Encourage the students to reflect on their learning and decision-
making, as well as brainstorm solutions. Encourage them to think
about the repercussions of each decision.
viii. Conclude the scenario-based activity by summarising key learnings
and insights acquired. Relate these to the basic learning objectives
and describe how they might be used in real-world circumstances.
ix. Facilitate a reflective debriefing session to examine learners’
experiences, insights, and problems from the scenario-based
exercise. Encourage them to think about what they have learned
and how they can apply it in future circumstances.
           x. Assess learning outcomes to determine the efficacy of the method.
You may assess them through quizzes, assignments, or role-plays
to evaluate students’ comprehension and implementation of
                 learning objectives.
