(c) Reading the given poem and doing the following:
(i) Summarise in one paragraph the message they get
from the poem and share the work with the class for
discussion.
(ii) Rewrite the poem in (b) using their own words.
They should stay as close to the original message as
possible.
(d) Playing a Word Association game using the guidelines given
in the Student’s Book.
(e) Composing a text or a story based on a specific register:
(i) A short news article about a recent event in their
neighbourhood. (journalism)
(ii) A story set in a rural village, focusing on the daily lives of
the inhabitants. (religion)
(iii) A medical report about the symptoms of Malaria and its
treatment plan. (medicine)
Student’s responses may vary, comment accordingly.
(f) Preparing a Register Role-Play Scenario on either a formal job
interview or a casual conversation among friends. Ask them to
demonstrate it in the class. Lead a discussion on the language
used.
