Enabling students to acquire good pronunciation skills is essential
for them to effectively navigate conversations. Pronunciation skills
help students to effectively communicate their thoughts and ideas
by ensuring clear and understandable interactions. In this chapter,
you will guide the students through performing various activities
to help them improve their communication skills. This will enable
them to acquire proper pronunciation to help them integrate
smoothly into social and professional settings and form significant
relationships and partnerships.
Activity 6.1 Interpreting information from spontaneous and
non-spontaneous conversations
Use the activities in the Student’s Book to guide the students through:
(a) Observing spontaneous and no-spontaneous conversations based
on the setting provided while paying attention to stress, tone and
intonation.
(b) Explaining the differences observed in (a) above.
