Teaching and learning steps
1. Guide students to brainstorm on the concept of food labelling.
2. In manageable groups, lead the students to search information
from any reliable source on the food labels.
3. Lead the students to discuss in their groups on the importance
of food labels.
4. Prepare a visit to the supermarket, malls or shops for students
to observe labels and task them to write a report and present
it in class for discussion.
5. In manageable groups, guide students to discuss the necessity
of indicating nutrient content claims and health claim in
food labels.
6. In manageable groups lead students to search information
from various sources and discuss the types of Nutrients
Reference Values which are Nutrient Reference Values-
Requirements (NRVs-R and Nutrient Reference Values-
Non-Communicable Diseases (NRVs-NCD).
