Introduction
Developing student’s ability to present information confidently and
convincingly in a classroom and beyond is very important. In this
chapter you will guide students in learning how prepare academic
documents such as proposals and reports and how to deliver
academic presentations successfully. The competence developed
in this chapter will enable students to prepare convincing and
captivating presentations and visual aids. It will also help them
master the art of public speaking and enhance their academic
performance and future career prospects.

Teaching procedures
1. Guide students through doing the following activities:
(a) Explaining the meaning of research.
(b) Analysing types of research.
(c) Explaining the meaning of a research proposal.
(d) Discussing parts of a research proposal.
2. Choose a few students from each group to present the work for
shared understanding and further clarification.
(a) Ask students in their groups to study the information about
research proposal and strategies to consider when preparing a
proposal as presented in the Student’s Book.
